How can I cancel a subscription that has expired card linked

And manure like this is why I used a prepaid card to begin with. You want me to pay just to be able to cancel? Good flipping luck with that. Greed has revealed itself, and I will have no part in it. Never again will I use the Windows store or Game Pass.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are inquiring about how to how to stop charges from being billed to the card on your account.

There is a way to remove the card on file from your account, however, in order to do that, you must first

settle the past due balance on your subscription. Once this is done, you can
turn off the auto-renew on your subscription or
cancel your subscription altogether. There is no other way for you to be able to remove the card on file without first doing this.

The link above will show you your current subscriptions with microsoft and there is a link at the top called payment options manage your payment card. once your card expires it does not cancel your xbox live. For example, my card has expired a couple of
months ago but my xbox live subscription expires in 2014.

My cards date expired and i thought i'd let my subscription to microsoft run out and end with it. But it did not.

It says on the "how to cancel" troubleshooting that it should expire on its own but alas it has not, atleast not properly. So i tried to cancel it under Services & Subscriptions > Manage > Cancel but there was no Cancel, only a Pay Now button.

I keep getting emails reminding me that the payment has not gone through and to please update the method.

So what do i do? I refuse to pay with a new card just to cancel it.

You should try updating all your information with the latest and most updated. You can go to the link below to help you out more.

You will have to login and then go to Payment options and change/edit all your card information. You will also see Subscriptions and would be able to edit them as well. I hope this helps!
