How can I bypass the ‘too many attempts’ trying to change an Xbox to ‘home xbox’? I need to...

I will share this post about this situation, please remember this is a policy:

1. No matter what console your profile is signed into you should always be able to play your games and use your gold.

2. You can set ONE console as your home console and any other profile on that console can play your games and use your gold without you being signed into that console at the same time they are.

3. You can only switch which console is your Home console FIVE times a year.

Basically if your system is saying that you have reached your FIVE times that means at some point in the last year your profile was signed in on FIVE consoles and they were made your profiles home console.

Now you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and if eligible they would be the ones that can reset that home xbox counter for you.

That would be the only way to get it reset until that date you see on your screen

Xbox Support cannot give an extra home swicth anymore. The only option is try to change the home xbox setting, and when it says you are out of switches, select help, and if you are eligible, then you can get one more switch that way.

I will to figure out how to change this once I get home. Here's my setup the stb to the Xbox One to my el gato capture card to my HDTV. I don't think it could be the el gato. I'll also try bypassing the capture card.

How many times have you attempted to change your Home Xbox in the past year? If it hasn't been more than 5 times, you should be ok to do it. It may also just be a problem on Xbox's end where it's having an issue saving the changes right now. I would wait
and try again later, or even tomorrow, as these issues/bugs usually fix themselves after a little time.
