How can I access my minecraft license from my new microsoft account?

Owners of older versions of Minecraft were required to complete the migration process to a Microsoft account, which was available from 2020 to 2023. Mojang announced that users who did not complete this process would unfortunately be unable to continue using the game unless they purchased it from the Microsoft Store.

The Minecraft migration from Mojang is on a separate Microsoft account. How can I access my purchase?

Sorry to hear about what happened. I know how that feels. Unfortunately, once your Minecraft account is migrated to a Microsoft account, it can no longer be undone. There's no way to transfer your game license or game data from one account to another. You must recover the Microsoft account itself to get back access to your games or licenses.

I have received an answer from Mojang Support.

As expected they said that they don´t have access to the Microsoft Account System and can not assist me on recovering a Microsoft Account.

They closed my ticket again.

The Microsoft Account my license got sent to had to be verified at the time of migration.

When you do the migration you are sent a code to the email address of that Microsoft Account.

That code got used, so it had to be sent on an emailaddress accessible to me.

I do not recall making a new Microsoft Account. I also checked all the email addresses of my familymembers.

I can´t find the email with the verification code though. It must have gotten deleted.

So now I suspect that one of my familymembers email address has 2 active licenses of Minecraft Java Edition.

Anyway, it now has been more than a week since I started to try and resolve this issue. It has been an uphill battle all the way.

I don´t have much hope anymore.

Microsoft keeps telling me they don´t deal with licensing issues and Mojang keeps telling me they don`t have access to the Microsoft Account System.

So I guess I am in limbo with my issue.

I don´t know where the Minecraft licensing database is located, but apparently both parties don´t seem to have access to it.

Thank you for working with me trying to resolve this issue. You have been tremendously helpfull in figuring out what must have happened.

But I consider it a lost cause at this point.

It does work. I found out the hard way when I gave my son my older console and got a new one for myself and downloaded the new content.

I had to do a license transfer for the new console before others in my family could access the content on the new console.

@Mavxrick - if the old account and DLC was originally on another console that would be the reason you couldn't access the DLC on yours. A license transfer and then redownload of the content is how it can be made accessable by others.
