How 19 years on Xbox has shaped me and helped me

I’m posting this in hopes that somebody from Xbox or Microsoft sees it and knows that there work means so much to some people. I also apologize for bad grammar. I was born February 2001 and my earliest memory of video games was my brother playing ty the Tasmanian tiger on the Xbox. It was just so colorful and I was immersed every time he played it. However my first actual gaming experience wouldn’t come until the Xbox 360 and halo 3. It was such a big deal to me because it was a game I could play with my brother but also play against him in and I remember coming home from school, running to his room to play with him (after homework of course ) during the 360 era I was exposed to so many more games. Brütal Legend, Fable, literally any arcade game (those were some of my favorites) . However my big leap into games wouldn’t come until around 2012 and 2014 with the release of halo 4, Minecraft, and in 2014 Destiny. The first two really brought me into the art of gaming, showed me my roll on teams and helped me become a good leader when times came to it. Destiny however was all of that and more. For the first time I connected with people from other countries. I made friendships that still last to today and I found a community that cared about me. Now ok every story has a sad part and here’s mine. My mom passes away from cancer in early 2015 after a 7 year long battle. At that moment i had the life sucked from me and I was aimless for months. But yknow what happened? I got on Xbox (Xbox one at this point) and all of the friends I’ve made, people I’ve never seen face to face welcomed me back with open arms. I had told them what happened and everyone of them helped me out separately, made sure I was ok, even messaged me so when I got online I’d always know I was thought of. If i didn’t have that support from these people then I wouldn’t be able to tell you how I’d be now. This brings me to my last point of the story, more recent events. The series x pre orders were live yesterday and I tried for a good hour to get one but I was unable. I wasn’t mad though or upset. Instead I was astonished that they had gone so quickly. It reminded me that this community is as alive as ever and that if it could help me 5 years ago, then it sure could help anymore number of people in the same way. So thank you Xbox. All of the game and hardware designers. All of those who work in a factory or an office for Microsoft that helped the Xbox become what it is. Thank you ~A fan
