Horrible Dashboard Update !!!!! Fix Now !!!!

Ok so I turn on my xbox one today and I am greeted by a crappy dashboard that was force installed without my permission. This new dashboard update has got to be the worst one I've ever seen ever !!!!!! Seriously though why update something that was working
completely fine and replace it with something that looks incomplete and unprofessional. All I would like is my old dashboard back. I do not feel comfortable using this shoddy dashboard. I am sure I am not the only one angry with this update, just because a
new xbox is coming out you guys think you can do whatever you like but I'm saying that it is not cool at all for the people that don't want this crappy update. There is too much space in between the tiles and when you scroll down its just like this black shadowy
crap that moves way too fast for my liking. Overall this dashboard update is very unprofessional. I am very unhappy and will not support this new dashboard. Why am I not notified if I want to update the dashboard or not ??!! So basically I'm forced to update
or I can't go online, complete BS ! Anyone else agree with me ?

They make me UPDATE to this horrible dashboard to begin with when it worked fine before and now I'l have to pay to send it in? WTF?

Only the Sith deal in absolutes...This country needs to learn moderation, tired of “my way, or the highway”. You can use the appropriate web site to give constructive feedback, bite your tongue and deal with it, or walk away. There is probably an entire
spectrum of choices in between those three options as well. Whining in a forum where NO microsoft employees are searching for feedback will accomplish nothing, sorry.

 

Personally, I use the console to play games on. I'm not staring at the dashboard for long periods of time so it really doesn't matter that much to me.

 

From reading other forums there are many people that agree this update is terrible, I'm one.

It seems everything that was on the sidebar is now on the new top bar, but needs an additional A press to access. Why?

To quote brandiesel "You’ll probably get used to it though." We shouldn't have to, they shouldn't implement something like this if its worse than before.

 

The official staff who moderate these forums are paid emoloyees of microsoft.

 

This is what de 360 dash looks like, it's awesome (took with my phone D)

I've tried out the dash and OMG you have to push more buttons to bring up friends and messages and those pop up in ANOTHER side pane box thingy. Seriously? More squares?! You can tell oldies <3 boxes and squares and calligraphy :] k it's a tiny bit faster
but it's not a simple UI. It's a UI which like an old person in like their 40's who has an office job wouldn't mind. It does look a bit more prettier but even my brother thinks it's 0.o

 

There are shades of gray to everything - not only black and white.

Last update was biggest improvement ever for me - so much less clutter and more customizable than ever.

But also realize that I don't use any of the online activities, friends and social overall - nothing of that - just starting games.

And not having to do five LS down to get to pinned games in itself very much an improvement.

One LS down always is games & apps - when just exiting a game and to start another.

Two LS down is my pinned stuff.

So ask for more customization maybe - and everybody can be happy.

But a lot of people feel 360 UI was excellent and functional - and so do I.

But set a bunch of designer on it - and suddenly functionality is gone - and you have X1 UI.

X1 interface is a bit flashier, and so it Xbox Store for X1.

But for me 80% were a blob in middle with 4 rows of stuff I never use and just have to pass every time getting to pinned stuff.

So I am very happy with new UI, compared to previous.

 

The 360 dash is bland & boring.I certainly don't want to see god awful avatars on the dash,and it's so slow compared to the xbox one.

If you want the 360 dash then use a xbox 360.

Op,you did give your permission for them to change the dash if they want.

Other than the community/activity feed I like the new updated home screen.I've had it longer than most so have got used to it I suppose but I can customise it & it's faster.

No problem here.Out of the millions of people with a xbox one you are always going to get a few who don't like changes.

In six months time there'll be people moaning about another update no doubt.

Like Smwutches,i play games on my console,i don't sit there a look at the dash.

 

Staff don't moderate these forums,moderators do (sometimes) Every now & then a member of the support team my close or lock a thread that has been reported but they are support staff & nothing to do with feedback,enforcement,the Insider program etc.

 

I honestly don’t see any flaws, but I’m not looking for them. When I turn on my console I do one of three things. Play a game straight away from the tile front and center. Go to my games and apps or go to the store. All 3 are easy is pie.

 

Dislike this UI a lot. I respect that there are people who like it. The invasiveness of it is what gets on my nerves the most, I realize that it's a component of the tech age we live in but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I
bought the console and keep it in my home and to me it feels like the equivalent of Microsoft strolling into my home and hijacking my console whenever they feel like it. I preferred the UI before the last one the most compared to the current and previous ones.

I hear a lot of buzz words being thrown around to make it sound like the changes were best for everyone, I'd like to know what went into making the decisions that shaped this UI. Was it based on overall user data available to Microsoft, was there some major
campaign by a group of users who gave their input, did their early adopter program user's reception to it determine it?

From my perspective it seems like I'm pressing more buttons to do the things I was doing before this UI. When I'm trying to get to my messages I have to get past a menu that tells me I have no new messages before I can get to my messages. When I click on
my friends to see who's doing what I have to click past a menu that shows me a few of my friends before I can see all of my friends. Both the messages and the friends menus appear in a column on the left side of the screen in the exact same place they did
in the last UI, so what empirical data lead to the decisions that created an extra step for me to get to the same end result? Why was the bio on my friends' profiles moved to the absolute bottom of that page, below recent activity which used to be on an entirely
other page? Some of my friends put hilarious stuff on their bios or song lyrics or quotes. Now I have to press more buttons to get to there.

A lot of focus seems to have been put into highlighting what my friends' gamerscores are in comparison to me, informing me of what they're doing at this exact moment while I'm not playing a game with them, pushing HARD to politely convince me to make clips
of my gameplay &/or broadcast it &/or take screen shots of it. I'm not at all concerned with any of that while I'm playing the games I'm playing. I'm not a Youtube personality, I'm not a Twitch streamer, I'm not an MLG gamer. I'm a dude who comes home from
work and winds down by playing some games with whichever of my friends happens to be playing the same game I'm playing or watching Youtube/ Netflix/ Hulu/ etc. Who was this UI intended for, people who are trying to start gaming personality careers while Facebook
stalking everything their potential rival gaming personality frenemies are doing? Leave that gig to Facebook.

@brandiesel1, you're frustratingly dead on right. There's no way they'll roll this thing back.

@halomw2, we're just going to have to get used to it. The only other option is to drop Xbox altogether and I plopped about $600 into my console last year because most of my then fellow 360 friends got Xbox Ones during the holiday season. I was fed up with
Microsoft/ the Xbone then, but they have all my online gaming friends as leverage. No way I was going to be able to talk 60+ people into switching to Playstation/ Nintendo/ etc.

Even Nintendo is starting to do the same crap with DLC and such. They held out the longest, but how long is a company going to hold onto standards when they see their competitors pooping out 3rd party after 3rd party AAA game that's
pretty much already sold millions of copies in pre-orders, broke as hell on launch day, has most of it's content locked behind DLC walls and shovels microtransactions down players' throats when they could just abandon their standards and claim the money enough
gamers seem to be desperate to drown them in?
