Horizon 4 Freezes and crashes at Splash screen

I'm having the same issue. However, mine says Hang Type: Quiesce.

I have the ultimate edition too.

So I tried uninstalling some apps and it seems that Spotify might be causing these issues. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but there's no harm in trying.

I'll try again tomorrow and see if Forza keeps opening smoothly and reliably.

are you trying to play the ultimate edition? Mine was ok until I upgraded.

The devs know aboutvtge issue but its been around for literally months so no idea when it will be fixed.

Just adding to your thread that I also have the same problem. My game will not open any more, and crashes after the splash screen.

The program ForzaHorizon4.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. I suddenly after half a year of use have begun to see same error when trying launch, a purchased. Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate;

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled. I have almost no other apps installed, not skype nor spotify. Latest Windows Updated applied.

Please could management of this software allocate one hour of developer time to sit debug the crash and fix it?

I wont be that hard for anyone with development knowledge since you got the WER crash call stack & data from so many users, Visual Studio debugger, and the source code and one computer to debug it on, right?

Googling a bit , it's quite amazing how many customers have paid money for this software but no developer fix it when it crashes.
