Hoping for some visibility on a GameBar issue (Windows 10)

xbox companion app is a legacy app from early windows 10, they are moving things over to the xbox app and the companion app will be discontinued eventually. you don't really have any reason to use the companion app now, which is why it does not come preinstalled on windows 11. game clips uploaded to xbox live should be visible from the gamebar.

I have been having this issue as well. I have tried all fixes including adding the registry key to make "allow apps to run in background" visible so i could enable that on Gamebar and Xbox app.

Nothing has worked.
This issue began after the Gamebar and Xbox app updated in the late November early December timeframe.

The issue is with the apps them selves and not our settings. With 20+ years as a Windows system administrator I know it's not on my end.

Keep in mind with updates sometimes certain features are made unavailable. This may not be the case in this instance but it is a possibility.

you can play with people on windows 10 version, xbox console version with the steam version. OP are you signing into the game with a valid microsoft account, also have you got gamebar running and signed in with that account too as gamebar is needed for some game invites.

You say that you updated your gamebar app, did you updated also your Windows 10?

If so, what version do you have?

And by updating the gamebar, do you mena normal update or that you inscribed yourself in Windows Insider program and enabled the beta of gamebar?
