    Homeworx 180stb


    I saw this box was supported and ordered one. Turns out what got sent to me was the "new version" and the Xbox won't control it. I see there is separate support for the 150 for the original and "new version". Is support being added for the "new version"
    of the 180?

    Xbox One won't control my HW150PVR tuner

    I have the homeworx 180STB. It worked great with my kinect for weeks, but now i have problems. When i select a channel to watch, the digits appear on the tv but then it just re-tunes the channel i am already on. I've tried everything i can think of...
    Factory reset homeworx, deleted /reconfigured the xbox's cable box settings, etc. When i use kinect to select channel, i watch it recieve the "2...4...-...1" but nothing happens, i type 24-1 with the homeworx remote and it looks the same on-screen but
    works. I'm frustrated. Anyone else see anything like this?!

    of... Factory reset homeworx, deleted /reconfigured the xbox's cable box settings, changed the IR delay, reset to 180stb old and new versions, hard restart xbox, clear all tv/oneguide info, etc. When i use kinect to select channel, i watch it recieve
    the "2...4...-...1" but nothing happens, i type 24-1 with the homeworx remote and it looks the same on-screen but works.

    i can recreate the above error if i add "enter" to the end of the channel command when typed from the remote. Using channel24-1 as an example :

    Typing: 2....4....-...1 changes the channel properly, with a THREE SECOND DELAY AFTER the last keystroke is entered, then it changes. .

    Typing: 2....4....-....1...enter re-tunes the present channel, INSTANTLY, exactly like when the kinect tries to change channels.

    It REALLY seems that there is an unneccessary keystroke after the numbers are typed. Please fix this xbox!

    JUST when I thought that these forums couldn't get any worse?? They come through with this abomination, I don't know why we need to have edit notes the old way was easier, anyway Glad to hear you worked it through.

    My Cable company ONLY allows cable boxes made by Motorola or ones that they $rent$ so all my channels where encrypted.

    Hey xXBOXxOne - I got the HomeWorX HW-150PVR and it will not let me control it as a "set top" device. Which means that xbox guide won't work and I can't control channel up/ channel down through the xbox one. Did you encounter this as well.... It is cool,
    but I'm kind of displeased because I can't control it through the XBONE which was the whole point.

    Wait -nevermind- I got it to work! Didn't know that it was brought up as "MediaSonic" brand... NOTHING on the stupid package or manual says the brand is mediasonic for the tuner, and when you search set top boxes with homeworx doesn't bring ANYTHING on
    the xbox.

    Started reading the forums then figured out the HW150PVR was a MEDIASONIC brand - I plugged that in to XBOX, Picked HW150PVR and IT IS WORKING. YAY SUPER AWESOME =). So happy!

    Hope this post saves other people from running into problems I had.

    I recommend pairing this with the Mohu leaf antenna, the HD looks really good and signal is super strong.

    Figured out how to do this between amazon user reviews and XBOX ONE forums. I think if more people knew you could do this they would end up buying XBONE... Wish MSoft would do better job of letting people know they can do this, or how to do it. I am a
    cable cutter. This was my last pet peve - and now it is resolved. I couldn't get local news and sports, but now with Hulu/Netflix/Amazon Prime/XBONE with tuner I am done with cable/sat/providers.
