home Xbox game sharing doesnt work

I have recently bought my son an xbox for xmas and transferred the games we bought via xbox gold, using the network transfer option. Once he had the games he wanted on his xbox he tried to play them and a message came up saying "the person who bought this needs to sign in"

If I am on the original xbox playing a different game, he is unable to play on his. I have tried the home xbox tick button with no difference, ttried re-booting and i am sure the newtork is working fine. I have given him access, will all permissions...any ideas?

You have 2 accounts and 2 consoles. Let's call them Account A, Console A and account B, console B.

Account A has the subscription and B does not. A should sign into Console B and make it his Home Xbox and then sign out of that console and let account B sign in.

Doing that, account B will have access to the subscriptions and games on account A's account and they can play together.

The issue with gamesharing often happens when the account with the games/subscription doesn't sign out after making the other console his Home Xbox, but once it's signed out, the other account can sign in and access everything.

To designate an Xbox console as your home Xbox;

• Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

• Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

• Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.

yes i used to game share with my brother! although it worked to begin with but now it doesnt work anymore and we put him as the xbox as his home xbox and it didnt work

you can remove his account from your xbox as it doesnt need to be on or signed in for game sharing to work if you have both set each others console as your 'home' console

Sharing isnt linked too the family its only linked too the home xbox console people dont need too be in your microsoft account family too share just anyone on your home xbox.

DRM on PC works differnt i not a big PC player so i dont know much about DRM on PC but someone else may

But i can say that xbox home console wont work on a PC
