    Home Xbox for Xbox Account Frustration


    Microsoft needs to get rid of the Home Xbox setting. On older consoles you could play with any account the game was downloaded on and had the main account. Today, if you have 2 Xboxs only one can be set to the Home. If you forget your information and lose the account you are screwed if you forgot to set yours as the Home and sold your old one, or your 2nd breaks or something. With Microsoft pushing for streaming games, having it where only that account can play or be set once kills the fun of gaming. No sharing games, no trading games, no playing games someone else bought with their account in the household that uses the one and only Xbox, etc.

    I am sorry, I understand the frustration you are feeling. The sharing only works on the Xbox when you set an Xbox as your home account it will then allow anyone who signs onto that Xbox to use your account. On the PC there is no way to set a PC as your
    "home", so there is no sharing ability. We have a family of 6 and have to have 3 active accounts of Xbox Live and Game Pass to be able to share and all play at the same time, and 6 Xboxes... 😂

    Sorry to hear about the Xbox One Home frustrations. Each account can set their Xbox One as there home Xbox up to three times a year. After one year from your first Xbox One home change, you may change it again.

    If this was done under your account without you knowing, I definitely recommend contacting our chat or phone support agents through our Contact Us page.

    Redeemed a Microsoft gift card to the wrong account

    Hey Ruscito!

    Unfortunately we're unable to assist in transferring credit between Microsoft accounts, but I did want to offer a different solution that may make this situation less ideal.

    With the account that the Xbox gift cards were accidentally redeemed on, you could use the credit that was redeemed on that account on a game and then have that account set as your home Xbox One console (check our

    Xbox One Home     page for info). That way your kid can enjoy any games on that account without you having to be signed in.

    Totally understand the frustration, but I hope that alternative solution helps out! :)

    After I removed my account from my own Xbox she was able to do the switch so for anyone that has the same problem
