Home consoles are just that for personal use

There is no unlimited transfers what would make you think theft is legal anywhere ?

As mentioned only one console allows you to do what you want and only one console nothing else as soon as you try it on another ps4 or ps5 you can't install your primary on another system

If a console did allow for unlimited theft the console won't have many games as developers would flee

You only get 2 licenses with consoles one roaming and one home that's it period

I can tell you Sony's primary console system is annoying after the one exception

Imagine using it on a psp and vita and they both get discontinued or you can't use your ps3 console games without having to sign in online without affecting your ps4 or ps5

Just mildly irritating if you ask me go to play a game when my net suddenly goes down oh ypu don't seem to ow this title make your xbox your home xbox to continue playing offline seriously Microsoft fix this

Okay but the home xbox currently only has my profile linked for gamepass I dont use it only my kid and my stepfather so they have they own profiles thats on my xbox one x now here at my house my series x 8s not my home xbox so I can't play when my net goes down this issue dose need be fixed

No only ps 5 does that

Every other generation and console doesnt

(Yes I owned ps4 and ps5 and vita let's say it's not fun)

Only ps5 doesn't require designation

Can you double check if his account is set as home xbox on your new console. Maybe he mistakenly switched it back to the old one.

with HIS account on the NEW console:

Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

Check if the home xbox option is ticked
