If it's a new account and you were given a randomly generated tag that you haven't changed, then your first change should be free.

I bought a game in the shop and I noticed that I did not choose my gamertag and I knew that normaly we can change his gamertag once for free but when I tried to change it my pay request

If you were the one that choose your gamertag from the time you created the account, that would be your free gamertag change. If not, the system would provide you with a generic gamertag, which would entitle you to a free gamertag change.

When you first join Xbox live it randomly chooses a gamertag for you, it does it for everyone. Yes you can change it once for free on the console. Once an account which is eligible for the free trial has been created on the console there's no was to undo
it or get another trial.

Yes I understand that last time I change my gamertag was back in 2021 so I was wondering when I'm able to get a free one because I'm having trouble getting one off the internet cuz my card is declined and I didn't know that and I've been wanting to change my gamertag for a while now but I know you guys hand out those free ones every once in awhile but I was wondering how long it would take to get another free one

To play online games on xbox live or on the xbox service with windows 10 you must have a gamertag. It seems like xbox live gave you a randomized one since you accessed a feature that requires your account to have a gamertag.

You can change this once for free since this is was applied by xbox live and you didn't choose it.
