    High ping all of a sudden on Xbox Series X over WIFI


    Over the past few days my ping has been high and inconsistent on my Series X. When I test the network speed and statistics I get results between 150-200ping (although speeds are still reading fine over 100Mbps), and in games there's so much packet loss and teleporting it's unplayable. Testing my network and playing games on my other devices all work perfectly.

    The weird thing is I've played heaps of online games from COD to Rocket league for months with no issues whatsoever, but now it's become unusable for multiplayer games and nothing on my end has changed as far as I'm aware. I have tried moving the Xbox, moving devices out of the way of it and the router and different DNS settings all with no luck.

    Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

    could it be that since I'm running my xbox through wifi that its causing the ping to be that high?

    No lag with Ethernet or high ping , I only get high ping on WiFi it’s bad on 2.4gh and only slightly better on 5gh. On PlayStation and other devices I have no issues whatsoever

    Hi,

    You are complaining about your WiFi, but stating you have a high ping. Ping has nothing to do with your WiFi connection between your console and the router.

    Ping is a calculation of the time it takes for you to recieve a response from the server you're connected to via the internet, the signal strengh of your home network is not part of the results from a test for Ping.

    If you're suffering high ping, you need to speak to your ISP.

    I keep having the same issue with the series x wifi just turns off and is unable to find any network at all. I have to restart the series x and it's good for about 5 to 10 minutes then does it all over again its very frustrating
