    Hide my Name on Xbox Account


    Firstly, I have seen this question before, but it was locked with insufficient answers.

    I'd like to press again - how is this not a massive breach of data privacy that new Xbox accounts on Windows default to "Allow Everyone to see my Profile" which includes your real name if you created your Microsoft account that way?

    And why is it that there isn't an explicit option to just hide my name and let people see my Profile with just my gamertag? Not to mention, why is no option explicit in that it will hide your name? Does one of the Privacy options do it? The closest option I saw was "Others can see your Xbox profile details - Decide who can see your Xbox profile bio and location." That doesn't even explicitly mention that Xbox reveals your real name. You can't even Ctrl-F for "name" on the entire Privacy Menu and hunt for a "hide my real name" option.

    Is it just not possible? Has Microsoft just pulled a Blizzard here?

    That's not a privacy breach

    Whoever told you that.needs to give you a refund

    In 3 billion people in the world how do you figure someone can find John Doe

    personal.info is a combination of things no-one can grab your info based on just your name

    In my town there was another person with the same name during a soccer match lots say it was confusing

    It's just not recommended that you use your real name as your gamertag

    You still need much more info then that like email password address etc

    I do for.some people I try to find there are dozens on fb when I try and find old friends even with old info

    It's not enough to pinpoint people

    No Option to Hide Name for Xbox Account

    Try using the console companion app. On the toolbar on the left, click your gamerpic to view your profile. There should be some options to customize your profile, etc. Click "More" and it should give the option for name sharing settings.
