  1. Hide installed games from home screen, Xbox S|X

    Hello,

I recently bought an Xbox S with Game Pass. It will be used by children of different ages, so I've downloaded the Xbox Family app, added children as users and set the appropriate age restrictions.

The parental controls block access to playing games and starting apps, as purposed. However, for the 5-year old I would rather that he didn't at all see the icons for the installed games (or the Game Pass library) that he's not allowed to play. Both because the icon art itself sometimes can be unsuitable for a child, and not to dangle "forbidden fruit" so to speak right at his nose. Is there any way to accomplish this?

This is what I have been looking for this far:

    - A setting i Microsoft Family Safety: "Don't show blocked games when child is logged in" or similar. There doesn't seem to be such a feature.

    - A per-game setting in the Xbox UI: "Hide game". Cannot find anything like it either (although a web search seems to indicate that this was possible on Xbox One).

    - Restricting the Xbox Home Screen to only show games added to it. Haven't had any luck.

    - Some UI Customization App that can be installed for this purpose. No success.

Has anyone else had this problem and know a solution? Any help would be much appreciated!

    :)

There isn't an option to do that. It's not a bad idea though. Why don't you post it as a suggestion on the Xbox insiders reddit ideas page, then the developers can look at it and decide whether to add it or not. https://bit.ly/3c5nBf0

    Unable to unhide games

    Hiya Lowkey,

Thank you for contacting Forum support!!

Starting with the November 2018 Dashboard update, the option to hide or unhide games in ready to install has changed. to hide or unhide games, follow these steps:

    • To hide games: Highlight the game(s) you wish to hide in your ready to install section and press menu. Select Hide from list and press A.

    • To Unhide Games: While on the ready to install tab, press and hold the left Thumbstick and then press X.
    Hope this helps.

    Happy gaming.
