    Account banned from someone else playing on it

    my account has been banned because of a family member was playing on my account and cursing through the private messages my xbox live account is . I have a week off of work because of thanksgiving and would like to communicate with friends and other
    family members through my xbox one. My account is banned till November 30th and ill be back to work well before that.

    Hello

    I would like some info as to why i was banned from Xbox live my old gamer tag is IFatal DriverI I've been a loyal costumer to Xbox over 5 years it shocks me that you ban loyal costumers for something i barely have control over yeah i could of reported or
    blocked him but theres times when nothing is done like i have said.

    my side of the story is this... a player who i had trouble with for awhile on the game forza motorsport 4 was harassing me and giving me problems in game and though Xbox live messages and because i don't let people walk all over me i gave it back i should
    of just blocked and reported him but i didn't want to give him satisfaction and let this guy do it to other Xbox live users, so i did what anyone would do and stuck up for myself and this led to a temp ban but i believe i reported him for abusive messages
    but he wasn't banned at all... wheres the fairness in that? he can be abusive and not get banned but i do it and i get banned? then it happens again and he still hasn't been banned, it was prob from another xbox live message to a friend or something... but
    i wasn't being abusive towards them just a joke between us, if someone could just give me some info or anythhing.

    Basically, if someone is being abusive on Live your best bet is to ignore what they are saying, go to their bio select the report or block option then report them. After that block them so they cannot contact you again. Do not get goaded into responding
    back as there are people on Live who try to goad others into responding then report them so they get suspended.

    You didn't misunderstand. The Xbox Support member lied to you in order to get your enquiry done with quickly and improve their numbers. No naming and shaming has been in place since this forum existed, yet Support know sending people to the official site
    is the easiest way to get rid of them.

    In addition to what Stuart has suggested, your friend should inform their ISP that they've been forced offline. Internet providers take abuse of their networks very seriously.

    Mgzin66, That is only for the Xbox One. With the Xbox 360 you have to buy individual memberships for each family member when your current membership expires. That is $240 a year for a family of 4 instead of $100 that we have been paying. I just spoke with
    an Xbox rep who confirmed this.

    it is called the home setting for the home so other family members in the same household can play on there profiles on the same xbox and you can play if the net goes down.

    and you can sign in anywhere and play as long as you are connected.

    there is no gamesharing option, that is just what people who abuse the system call it.
