I'm sorry that you are having this problem with your Xbox Series S console. With the intention of helping you, I did an internal search here on the Microsoft forum and found a user who had a problem similar to yours, so the recommendation is as follows:

Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > DNS Settings > Select Manual.

It will ask you to manually fill in your primary and secondary DNS IP. Try these two combinations to see which works best:

Primary: 1.1.1.1 / Secondary: 1.0.0.1
Primary: 8.8.8.8 / Secondary: 8.8.4.4

After that, on the same screen, go to Alternate MAC Address > Erase > Reset

This will restart your console.

After the reboot, go again to Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Port Selection.

Try each of the ports and see which one gives you the best connection. To test your connection (after changing ports and/or DNS), simply click Test Network Speed ​​on your Network Settings page.

What specifically would allow the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to connect while the built-in wifi would not?

My Xbox 360 S detects a wireless signal with 4 bars, and I am testing it while sitting it right next to the modem, so there is no issue with signal strength.

My Xbox 360 S's built-in wifi is able to connect to a hotspot, and it is even able to connect to my neighbor's wifi from my house.

The xbox series x/s is completely incapable of connecting to hidden wifi networks. There are various tricks/hacks people are using which may or may not work, but it is not supported natively.

I cannot connect to hidden wifi networks. It will not find my ssid when manually entered.

Both are connected to the same wireless network and WiFi is active on my phone. Will run check on Xbox connection to double check.

What happens when you try to connect to your WiFi? Do you get any errors?

If your Series S connects to other WiFi networks, there may be an issue with your router or internet connection. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far such as restarting your router/modem?

You may need to configure your router to improve the WiFi signal and make sure your Xbox's connection isn't being blocked by the router's firewall. WiFi signal may be improved by relocating the router and changing the WiFi channels in the router settings.
