I understand your concern. In order to cancel an Xbox Game Pass subscription on an old Microsoft account whose password you have forgotten, you will first need to recover your Microsoft account password. You can do this using the Microsoft account recovery form.

Once you have regained access to your account, you can cancel your Game Pass subscription from the Services and Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account.

is it possible that he is using a different Microsoft account on his Xbox? that maybe either him or someone else logged into a different account on that Xbox console?

can you try logging out and logging into his account on his Xbox again?

also Minecraft is not on Game pass.

Game pass is not for purchasing games, Game pass lets people play games as long as it's not expired.

I was able to add my son's account on the console but when we log into his account and try to select the games which I downloaded via the Xbox Unlimited Game Pass, it says 'The person who bought this needs to sign in'. I'm given the options to select 'see in Microsoft store', ' cancel' and 'open troubleshooter'. 'See in Microsoft Store' didn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?
