You cannot change the initial email address that you setup with Microsoft or switch it to a different email. What you can do instead is to add a new alias. An alias is an additional email address associated with your Outlook.com account.

An alias uses the same inbox, contact list, and account settings as your primary email address. You can sign in to your Outlook.com account with any alias—they all use the same password.

To add an alias, follow these steps:

Sign in to your Microsoft account, if prompted.

Under Add an alias, do one of the following:

Create a new Outlook.com email address and add it as an alias.

Add an existing email address as an alias.

But doesn't the link/guide provided by An Xbox Dude involve changing my actual email to another one. Because if that's the case then I don't want to change my email address. I like it as it is. Or am I misunderstanding something? Does this process actually
swap my work email for my casual email and will I end up receiving work related emails to my casual email address because of the swap? Slightly confused.

as i said before i can't access my account because they swap my email for a email i don't even know and then they removed my email making password out of the questions.

Having the same issue - need to swap this gamertag off this email (this is my primary email) so I can move my actual gamertag onto it.

I have a 2 step swap process to go through and can't even get it started by removing this randomly-generated tag off my email.
