It is important to clarify that Xbox 360 controllers don't support Bluetooth, these controllers and the first model of the Xbox One controller have a proprietary wireless connection.
This is the reason you can't discover the controller on your PC bluetooth settings.

Not only that, but if you wish to connect your controller wirelessly, you may need to get the Xbox 360 wireless adapter for PC.

I'm also experiencing the same issue on a Lenovo Yoga.

I am also experiencing a similar issue. I get a blue screen after it finishes loading and the music just starts then the app crashes and restarts. I am using a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2.

The Series X|S and Xbox One controllers are not compatible with the old Wireless Gaming Receiver used to connect Xbox 360 wireless controllers to a PC device. However, they do support connection to a PC via Bluetooth.

Smartglass is also not working for me in Windows 8.1. I am using a Lenovo Yoga. I am able to connect to the 360 from my Windows phone Smartglass app, but I am not able to connect with the Windows 8.1 app. I am NOT trying to connect to the 360 with both apps
at the same time. I close the windows phone app before attempt to connect with Windows 8 Smartglass app.

At first I thought the issue may have been a public connection. At some point my home connection was set to "public," but I removed the connection from the command line using "netsh wlan delete profile='my wifi'" and reconnected making it a private connection.

The computer sees the xbox as a "play device" as well under settings>PC settings>PC and devices>devices, so the computer is able to communicate with the Xbox. This leads me to believe the issue is some kind of bug.
