My sons fortnite won’t update it says the item you are trying to use maybe corrupted I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck have tried epic games they say to contact Microsoft which I am struggling to do and I have a son here how is going crazy that he can’t play? Please help

I recommend to try the following troubleshooting article. “My Xbox One game won’t start or freezes during
gameplay” and see if that helps.

Hey,

Fortnite uses it's own virtual currency named V-Bucks.

You should be able to purchase V-Bucks with your Xbox currency and with those V-Bucks purchase in-game items on Fortnite.

If the game is currently installed right now, please delete it and disconnect all the USB accessories (like a steering wheel, external hard drive, etc)

Once you do that, please do this:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.

Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

**Make sure to know the email and password for all the profiles added on the Xbox

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try downloading the game again
