I got a message yesterday and like you I had sold my 360 so had to go to a mates to check. I was thinking I had won something but it was only the message to say I need to check my email/password.

With regards to the message you received, may I ask what exactly does it say? Normally if your account was setup as a minor or child when you first created your xbox account then that would be what the system will consider and you might encounter restriction for some games.

You can also try checking via https://account.microsoft.com/family page to see if you are part of a family group. For the date of birth of your account, you can try adjusting it at https://account.microsoft.com/profile page however, if your account was a minor you might not be able to change the date of birth.

If this is the case, you may actually try to remove the restrictions by having a parent or organizer account manage your main xbox profile. Let me guide you how:

1. You will need an alternate account that will serve as a parent. If you don't have one you can create at https://signup.live.com page.

2. Using the parent account sign in via https://account.microsoft.com/family page and add your Xbox email address or account as a Member/Child.

3. Accept the invitation using your Xbox account email.

4. Using the parent account, go to the https://account.microsoft.com/family page again to manage the child account.

5. Under the child account, click elipsis or 3 dots button and choose the Manage option.

There you may change the date of birth of your main account and remove any restrictions. Once done, just restart your console and check if there are still restrictions.

I checked that link, everything checks out for me. I checked my contact email and my sign in email, and I don't have any messages from Xbox. And that link doesn't say anything about being on a family plan.

i have the same issue , i log into my comp to check my messages got abunch from the ambassador email asking questions , and i want to answer them but it says offline and i can't send messages while its offline , i did recieve my email after applying verifying
that i was accepted , but the email sending the questions remains offline

Sometimes the content arrives via email attached to the account, or via message from Xbox live.

You'll need to check the messages from xbox live to check this.
