I apologize but according to Forza Support:

"Your save file which includes progress and in game items on Steam is completely unique and separate from any pre-existing save file that’s associated with your Xbox Live gamertag, due to technical limitations. This includes user generated content like liveries, layer groups, blue prints, etc.."

This means that your progress from Microsoft/Game Pass is only linked to the same platform and can't be synced on the Steam launcher.

Minecraft is not a free to play game, however on the Xbox, it does form part of Xbox Gamepass, if you are subscribed to gamepass you will be able to download and play the game.

As a member of GamePass Ultimate, you have access to a wide variety of free games. There is no limit to how many you can try, download or play. If you decide to end your GamePass membership, you will lose access to these games.

GamePass games, have the 'GamePass' icon in the corner of the game art; this shows you that you can play them.

All GamePass games can be downloaded as you see fit, however, now and then, some GamePass games are removed from the library.

Yeah, this is one of the best free with gold I have seen. Was excited about forza. Even title in gamepass have me excited for this month also. Great time to have ultimate.
