Hep / suggestions required - Loading code for Xbox GOLD and avoiding re occurring billing

Hi.

I have recently purchased a 12month Xbox Gold subscription from CD Keys.com and for my young son. He lives with his Mum so his console is not to hand.

I received the code and passed this onto him. He loaded the code but the Xbox message states that he needs to change the billing to re occurring. What do I need to do ? as I don`t particularly want to do this and also if his xbox is with him and not here with me there`s not much I can do.

Can anyone suggest anything please as I don`t know much about any of it.

Hello, if you log in to the microsft.com account and go under subscriptions and billing it should give an option to uncheck the reoccurring billing option.

You're a genius, I turned on re occuring billing on my xbox live gold then upgraded to ultimate for £10.99. Next payment is July 2023. Thanks so much!

games with gold games are free to download but if your gold membership expires they will not load and it will require you to re subscribe.

my kids get gamepass and live via codes, they do not have billing info and i do not have billing info, when i enter a code it asks me do you want re occuring billing, i select no and continue on my way, this is via the xbox itself and by the xbox app on pc. but i am in the UK so it maybe different for other countries.

Draft Badger is correct Xbox Live Gold also Avatar Items can't be purchase with Xbox Credit.

Xbox Gold Requires a Bank Payment or Prepaid card
