Hi all,

Let's go ahead and try these steps one more time and see if they can help. Please post if these steps help or not below as well. Thanks!

1). Clear your cache

2). Redownload your profile

**Now test again, if the issue persists, please try steps 3 & 4**

3). Remove and re-connect your hard drive

4). Delete any game/app causing this issue and any DLC associated for that game on the hard drive and then redownload said content again

As we continue to look in to this issue, we have found a good amount of success with performing these steps in this specific order. Let's go ahead and all try this out and see if it is able to help.

1). Power cycle the console (turn the console off and back on)

2). Clear the system cache 3 times in a row

3). Power console off, remove all USB accessories, Memory cards, Kinect (if attached) and
hard drive, then try launching a disc-based game that does not require hard drive

4). If still failing, remove the profile ONLY (do not delete items associated
with your profile when asked) and then re-download the profile

If this does not help resolve the issue though, please provide the following info for us to pass along to the proper teams:

1). What model console and hard drive you are using? (ex: S model with a 250GB HDD, Original model console with a 20GB HDD, etc.)

2). When did you first notice this behavior? (ex: 7-29-2014 at 3:30PM EST)

3). What games/apps have you recently downloaded around the same time this issue started occurring?

having the same thing. it started last wednesday the 30th of july. after i downloaded the saints 4 online code. the next thing i tried going back to crackdown (still works) my platoon came online and went to play battlefield 4 and got the black screen

a quick temp solution is deplug ure internet, start up the game and then reconnect to xbl. seems to work for me that way. however its still a big issue

 

This issue is so damned annoying.

Neither of my 360's will work.

My main console is a 250GB Slim model with my main account that I am posting this with.

My 2nd console is my old white console with a 60GB drive. I tried accessing that with my sons account. Once I was aware that the problem existed on both consoles I have tried all the following steps on the slim console with my main account. My profile
and my sons normally reside on a USB stick.

I have followed the above steps 1-3

1).Power cycle the console (turn the console off and back on)

3). Power console off, remove all USB accessories, Memory cards, Kinect (if attached) and hard drive, then try launching a disc-based game that does not require hard drive.

At this point I was not signing in with any account. I was notified that a system update was available which I declined I then started a disc game properly

I plugged my USB and HDD back into the console, loaded my profile and tried the game again but it failed with the black screen and freezed.

I unplugged the USB and tried to recover my profile to the HDD but now I can't download my profile. It freezes at about 60%, restarts reaches 60% again.

I was able to start and play Torchlight (the arcade game located on the HDD) at about 9.30am(GMT+12) and was logged into and played the game for several hours. I signed out and then briefly used the system video app and then I turned the console off about
2.30pm(GMT +12).

I turned it back on about 3.30pm and that's when all the freezing problems started. I have not downloaded any apps or games for a while. The last game was purchased about a week ago.

My 2nd console was used yesterday to play Dungeon Defenders for a while and nothing has been downloaded on that for several weeks.

 

I also started having the same issues 2 days ago. I have also tried all the steps above without any success. Not feeling it but trying to be patient. Hope Microsoft comes out with a fix soon.

Also having this problem, I seem to find that if I disconnect from the Internet, restart the console and then reconnect, it works fine until the console is next restarted.

 

I've tried all of Mister Rush his steps but my Xbox still won't launch any games or apps.

I noticed the problem for the first time today on 8-1-2014 (I don't know at what time exactly)

I've recently downloaded the Destiny BETA and Installed Call of Duty Ghosts

 

I tried all Mister Rush

I have a Slim Xbox 360 with 250 gb harddrive

I began seeing this problem on 7-31-14 (around 7 pm)

I have not downloaded anything this week

But I even got a black screen when I launched youtube

Problem started yesterday 7/31/14, late afternoon.

Did all the steps and deleted the last thing I downloaded (Destiny Beta, which I never got to play). Still black screen when launching apps, disc-only games, etc.

This began around 4ish (EST) on 7-31-14 (when trying to launch the Twitch app).

I downloaded the Destiny beta last Friday, Madness Motocross trial (was trying it out before it became free today).
