OK I am so lost I placed the lord vessel and have no idea where to go now. The only place I can think of is the the catacombs, the valley of drakes, the yellow fog doors that cleared up after I placed the lord vessel, and that one place behind the second
bell (the place where you walk through i giant tunnel made of spider webs then when you reach the end there's lava and looks like a castle of some sort.)

Then I was wondering according to the wiki theres soft caps and I reached the soft cap for intelligence which is 40 so I'm wondering is it worth to keep leveling intelligence past 40 or no?

No not really on valley of drakes that place is purely optional really

Yes to place after spider area.

Yes to Catacombs.

Yes to Dukes quarter (I assume this is the place you mean with yellow fog gate.) which is to the left of the first bonfire in anor londo

There is also new londo ruins you talk to a guy on a roof he gives you a key that you use to drain all the water out (side note kill sif and wear the ring it gave you before dropping down after entering the boss fog gate.

Two more side areas you could go to are back to the asylum where you face a boss that will be very similar to another boss you'll face in demon ruins also to collect an item that will et you access another side area the painted world of arimas. Which is
on the ground floor of that place you had to fight white ninjas in the rafters in anor londo. It's a giant picture on a 2all you click on once you collect the peculiar doll from you celll at the very beginning of the game.

 

To your question on leveling up, there is a soft cap on intelligence although it actually changes depending on which catalyst you are using. Logan's catalyst, according to the link below actually caps at 45. There is a spell that requires 50 Int to cast,
so there is reason to go that high if you want to cast that spell.
