Use Kinect with PC

There are several sites and youtube videos on how to do this. As there are two different types of Kinect devices make sure you are following the correct instructions.

Windows Media Player already installed in Windows 7 (or a free download if you have the N version). Xbox One Media Player to play that content. You can control all playback functions with Kinect.

Alternatively purchase NAS with built in media server. Use Xbox One's Media Player to playback content. Use Kinect to control playback.

Buy a media remote if you don't have Kinect.

You seem to be adding needlessly complex steps to your media playback.

If it helps, windows 10/11 are free to download from the microsoft webpage.

There aren't any free games for kinect that I know of that you can necessarily play for a good while but kinect fun labs offer kinect games, some totally free, others you have to purchase with microsoft points. You could always download kinect game demo's
even though they are not the full version of the game, you are able to play them over and over again. Hopes this helps ^_^

It must be the Kinect for Windows or Kinect for Windows v2. Xbox One Kinect cannot connect to a PC without an adapter.
