Achievements don't pop when you're not connected to the internet, and then with you saying multiplayer isn't working, well it kind of sound's like you're not connected. But if you say you definitely are, then I'm not sure what the issue is.

May not have anything to do with it but have you update your console to the latest OS? If not then that could be the root of the problem. If it is not that, then I would try uninstalling and re installing the game.

You can use your Microsoft account balance to purchase subscriptions, but since it starts a recurring subscription, the system wants to make sure you have enough to cover the next payment (even if you plan on turning off auto-renewal).

You can't use your Microsoft account as a payment method for a subscription. You need a payment method that supports ongoing payments like a credit card or PayPal.
