help. trouble formatting Seagate drive

the picture i showed was an already formatted drive, but the option should of been there on the drive. Seagate does have their own trouble shooting that is similar to xbox's. It does have one more step of hooking it to a PC and running Seatools on it.

I run a seagate also, that drive is supposed to be an excellent drive. You might have to partition the drive to get it to work. Maybe Seatools will have a partition program with it? Most new drives are already partitioned. The formatting of the xbox one is
a proprietary one which is why you can't format outside of the xbox. Wish I could be more help. Good luck.

Can you (just for testing purposes) unplug the Seagate hard drive and try to install one game on your internal hard drive?

If that works, try if it's possible to format the Seagate Harddrive on a PC, and do NOT use Quick format. With Quick Format, only the "table of contents" of a hard drive get overwritten, but by doing a "regular" format, each part of the drive will be formatted,
and you can check if parts of the drive platter became defective.

If the Format was successful, try to connect the drive to your console again, and have the console format it again for game storage.

If the drive shows signs of corruption or is unable to be formatted on PC, check on the Seagate website, if the drive is within warranty and can be replaced/repaired.

Pretty much any hard drive is covered however, some people have experienced connection issues with the Seagate brand.

If you get a hard drive and have trouble seeing it when it is connected then try hooking it to your PC and format it.

Thank you for your response. I have done this and both are formatted as required, the seagate drive default formatting as NTFS. But the Xbox says the seagate needs to be formatted even though it’s sayings it’s formatted as NTFS.

I had the same issue with seagate 2tb external i had to go to seagate support page and download the windows NTFS file the format drive to NTFS
