Help set up account wrong and need to change without losing my sons stuff

Unfortunately, nothing can be transferred between accounts. You would need to either create another account to your son - he will still be able to play the games on your account, but all his progress will be lost - or let him play on your account but change the account password and select an option to request your password for every purchase. But if your son find out how to turn this option off he would still make purchases on your account.

I’m glad you’re asking. I set up my son’s Xbox with my account before I knew the world would tie into it. It shows him as an adult. I need to move his gamer info to a new account without losing his accomplishments. I also need to restrict settings because
he is chatting with people and I need to stop that access. I think I can do that once I transfer him to a child account.

If your son is sharing your daughter's Ultimate subscription, then he doesn't need his own Gold. The only benefits he would lose would be access to each months' Games with Gold games (free games) and sales for Gold members.

Since you have to sign into your daughter's account to access her games, then yes, you would lose access to those games if you remove her account. It sounds like that account is set up as an adult account. Adult accounts cannot changed to a child account. Your only option is to create a new child account for your son. he will lose progress, as he will have to start his games again on his new
account.

My account which his gamertag is set up on is an adult account. Surely there must be a way of moving Gamertags between accounts?!? I've set up a child account for him but just need to move his gamertag.

Creating a new gamertag or losing the progress on his current one is really not an option.....
