[Help] Problem with playing Minecraft Beta Online with my friend

Looked through some of the help articles - man the information is confusing.

Anyways from what I'm inferring from the posts is that you can play Windows 10 to Windows 10, and Pocket Edition to Windows 10 and that's it right now.

Hello Nugnug. This issue has happened to me in the past and there are many different reasons that this could happen.

1. One or multiple of your friends are in the Minecraft beta program which means that they will not be able to join your worlds because they are in a "future" update compared to you. Your friends must leave the beta program, uninstall and reinstall the game
in order for you to play with your friends.

2. Your multiplayer settings might be on invite only. Changing it to "friends only" or "friends of friends" in the Minecraft settings will correct this problem.

3. Your Xbox LIVE settings are keeping you from playing with your friends. Changing your privacy settings for communications and multiplayer will fix the problem.

Is it possible that your friends signed up for the Minecraft Beta in the Insider App?

If that's the case, your friends either need to leave the Minecraft Beta and play on the "regular" version, or you'll have to install the Xbox Insider App, and join the Minecraft Beta as well.

Hello I am experiencing this problem with Minecraft im trying to join my friends realms but it said you cannot play minecraft realms because of how your account is set up. You can change your privacy and online settings in aka.ms/account settings
but it never works i cant find privacy settings anywhere it sends me to xbox support everytime. Please help

you or one of you friends might have a beta version of Minecraft. if so leave the Insider program for the Beta version of Minecraft and then you might be able to play together. in the Insider hub app on xbox
