HELP!! I keep losing hours of save progress for no reason!!

I first noticed this on September 7, 2020 after installing Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. After about 5 hours of playing I noticed (not for the first time) that the auto-save notification had not gone off and I could not manually save the game. After
resetting the Xbox I had lost all progress in the game, and started from the beginning.

The next day after playing for a while I noticed the persistent auto-save notification again, and once again was unable to save manually. Again I reset the xbox, and again I lost about 3-4 hours of progress. This has continued to happen every day since
then, and applies to whatever game I am playing. It just happens to be more noticeable on KOA because of the auto-save notification, but I have now lost progress on Sundered, Warhammer: Vermintide II, Shiness, and Yakuza Kiwami.

This is extremely frustrating and the only other questions I can find in the forums are all locked and have no legitimate answers.

I am always connected to the internet, and I have already uninstalled KOA: Re-reckoning. I also checked my purchase history to see if I had installed anything else around that time and it looks like that was the only thing I downloaded within almost a 2
week period. If anyone can offer some help I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey have you tried using a different gamer account for those game saves?

Have you tried playing those games offline with the local save? That's all i have

This happens to xbox 360 online gold saves. While playing any xbox 360 game from the xbox one. The game saves, however if you play that same game on the xbox 360 does not save.

Anyways try giving xbox a call. I really don't like calling them either only because of that phone bot.

I think they updated their bots since the last time I called, and I cant even get a human now! The message prompts me to go to xbox.com/help but when I go there and make selections everything says "phone calls are not available for ...". Its maddening.

I dont want to upload them, I need a way to get them back if possible. Losing about 10 hours of progress because for some reason they don't keep the save files in a different location that apparently isn't overwritten when you reinstall a game.

Yes, also your progress is stored online on the xbox one cloud servers (while you save while online) if for some reason you lose the saves. If you lose the saves, the next time you play the game it will say "syncing data..." and then it downloads your save
game.

Hello there!

If you always play online, then your progress is saved to the cloud so you should not be losing any of it. Therefore, when you select "reset and keep games and apps", you will not be losing your saved progress.
