    Help! Game was gifted from UK, and cannot redeem code!


    Needing help finding a solution to this problem, I friend from the UK gifted a game GTA 5 to my gamertag. I get an error message saying I cannot redeem it due to different region and contact the seller where the code came from?

    Game gifted via micrsoft store

    i am located in UK and have been gifted a dlc code for a new game which was purchased in Brazil. When i try to redeem the code it says it is not compatible with my region, i thought xbox one was not region coded. So how do i download the code?

    (god i shouldn't be helping you...supporting that team!. arrrggghhh Help! Game was gifted from UK, and cannot redeem code! :) )

    I had the same problem, which was really confusing for me to start with, I couldn't do anything online because the xbox one wanted me to accept updated terms and conditions to start with, when it did this I got a error which stopped me connecting to live, and although I could browse the web I couldn't get on the live service

    to get round this I went to the xbox live account on my pc and accepted them there - it then worked instantly.

    however from previous threads it seems like your already on live.

    when something is gifted via Xbox Live then it can only be used in the same region, this is btw mentioned prior to the purchase.

    The only option that can be done is for the giver contact Xbox Support for a refund, there are no other options as mentioned on the support page I'm afraid.

    He gifted it to me and he is from the UK and if keeps saying that i cannot download it bc its outside of this region.
    Gifting is region specific and the user is warned about this at the time of purchase. Sadly you won't be able to redeem the code on your account. You should get your friend to request a refund for the item.

    Xbox gift codes/Xbox codes are geo-locked which means that we can only redeem a code that was purchased in the same region as ours, that's why your friend in the US was not able to redeem the code.

    Hello Fr4nksy, unfortunately the game key you bought in Brazil is only valid in Brazil, because game codes, subscriptions and Gift Cards are region locked.

    As you live in the UK, in order to redeem your Minecraft the key would have to be from the UK.
