    Football is my biggest passion in life (outside my kids), but i've never been that great at football videa games, so i'm asking for any tips, control layouts, and general help ti improve my skill set,

    Do beta's take away from games?

    Not at all betas are fantastic. It is a like a demo but you also get to help out the developer with improving the game. It is a win win kind of thing.

    FIFA is one of them games, you are always improving, i'd recommend doing the Skill games to begin with, this will teach you all you need to know, default controller layout is probably the easiest. Start on a low level difficulty when playing games against
    the computer and then up your level as you start to get used to the game a lot more. There are loads of YouTube videos from EA Sports themselves on how to defend etc

    It can take longer than just a few hours or a couple of days to improve. As you've already stated, the only way to improve your rep is by continuing to play online. Free to play games are usually some of the best games to help improve rep.
