Help - Account and Games

Hi.

I haven’t played Xbox since 2018 when I had a normal Xbox One and a 360, both of which I used regularly. I just bought a Series S and am yet to set it up. I have a few questions before I start.

If I use my same account from back in the day, will all the games I downloaded digitally be on my new Xbox?

If I rebuy them, will my progress be there still?

What about games I used to play with discs on that account?

I am also wondering what happens after I leave a Microsoft Family. Will my parents still have access to my account after I leave, change passwords, names etc?

Basically, will everything be the same with a new Xbox but same gamer tag/account, or am I starting fresh??? Thanks.

Hi Sniper,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We recommend to update your 360 profile since it has been a while. Also make sure no one is signing in on your account on any other console.

1. Hit the menu and back button together to pull up the 360 emulator.
2. go to download profile even if your profile shows.
3. enter the credentials for your account.

This updates the 360 profile. Try this and let us know.

Any games you own digitally will be in your Games and Apps under Ready to Install (360 games will only be there if they are backwards compatible).

If you had the saves stored on the cloud, you will keep your progress if you install the games or rebuy them.

Disc games will not work on the Series S so those games would have to be purchased digitally to use on a Series S.

If you leave a Microsoft family, your parents would no longer have the ability to change anything on your account.

As long as you sign into the new console with the same account, everything will be the same. You would only start fresh if you create a new account.

Yup. You can use a usb drive buy the game on his console then take your profile back to your console and download it again. And yeah even if you delete the account. Just delete profile only. You'll both be able to play the game.

As you don't remember your account details, you may need to proceed with the account recovery form:

In cases like this no one Microsoft agent or Mojang support can assist you with this process / tell your the specific email / modify or share account details due to privacy and security policies
