Help a xbox one newbie dad

Hi All,

I am a computer programmer BUT xbox total newbie. I bought a xbox one for my son (7 years old) who loves minecraft. I travel a lot and wanted to know how (if possible) to play with him (i.e. sharing the same minecraft world) while I am traveling. Is this
possible? I am confused with xbox live, live gold, etc etc etc..

I have been trying to figure this out myself but too many things are going over my head in this gaming world...Can someone give me the summary if this is possible and a simple list of what I need to do to accomplish it?

Pls Suggest games For xbox one newbie and single player

Hello Friends,

I am a newbie to xbox one. From the below list can anyone please suggest games that are good for newbie and also single player :

a) Call of Duty

b) Metal gear solid 5

c) Fallout 4

d) Gears of War

e) Titanfall

f) Any sniper game.

Again pls consider I am a newbie to xbox one and single player. I would highly appreciate any advice.

i lived in uae, how can i posibly connect to xbox live AND buy some games for my kinect?

i couldnt connect to xbox live! i couldnt buy games!

All you need is two copies of the game and two Xbox Live accounts.

There is a checkbox in the options menu when you create your world to flag it for online play and then you can set it to invite only. Then you and your son can share a world while you are away.

Thank you for the reply...this helps but of course begs another question. Does your solution imply that we BOTH have to have xbox machines? Or is one xbox enough? Meaning, he would be connected to the xbox at home and what "user interface" would I use
to play with him? A web browser connected to xbox live on the web? I am usually in hotels when I am traveling so I hope I dont need another xbox...

Sorry for the potentially dumb questions but I am still trying to figure all this out...thanks!!

You would have to have another Xbox. The games do not work cross-platform. There is a Windows 10 edition of Minecraft that you could each play using a computer.

Yes. Take the 2nd controller and sign into a guest account. That should do the trick
