Hello Nick, when it comes to Microphone and sounds like this can be a lot, the microphone plug can have a bad contact, the microphone input on the PC, drivers not only the microphone but the sound card can also affect, lack of system update, be it Win 10 or 11.

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the microphone crackling on the Xbox App. Is this the app on your phone or PC? If this is on the PC please check under your PC's settings and do a sound test
on the microphone to verify that there is no crackling on that microphone.

It sounds a lot like a faulty microphone deal. try a new headset.

Same. Sounds like the wind blowing hard across the other persons microphone when they speak. I should note this is happening on my phone only, although I don't use the xbox for chat at all, game sounds are fine.
