    Hello, as of a few months ago my Xbox One S has had multiple major issues that have rendered it nigh unusable. These issues range from small but annoying issues such as taking long to boot up, incredibly long loading screens, unstable fps, and home screen and menus taking long amounts of time, and that's just for the small parts. The major issues I have been having with it are enough to make it, quite literally unusable. I believe the main issue stemmed from an odd power surge that happened mid update while I was asleep but ever since then I hadn't had a successful normal update. Since then, the issues became more sever ranging from being unable to update the console, leading me to try every troubleshooting method posted by Microsoft. The only solution which served to help this issue was performing an offline system update which helped for a time up until it didn't and the same issue recurred and is now much worse. I've done everything I can find officially and unofficial methods of solving this have not helped. Currently the issue is so bad that after performing everything I can, I can no longer set up the console due having to perform a factory reset. Any help with this is extremely appreciated, thank you in advance.

    Edit: to add more detail about certain problems, they range from entire areas of games unloading while in them, not being able to update the console in order to even use it, being entirely unable to perform an offline system update, and being able to set up the console after factory resetting it.

    If all the issues you mention subsided for a while after updating the console offline ( https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/offline-system-update ) but then returned in a worse manner, and if you've previously tried resetting the console without positive results, then this most likely indicates a hardware problem with the console. It could be related to some internal component, possibly caused by the power surge you mentioned, especially if these problems began occurring after that point.

    If your console is still under warranty, you can request warranty service by following the instructions provided in the following link:

    If your warranty has expired, you will need to send your console to a trusted technician in your area for inspection and repair. Unfortunately, Xbox no longer offers repair services for out-of-warranty Xbox One consoles for a fee. You can confirm this by visiting the previous website and checking the "Out-of-warranty service costs" drop-down menu, where you will see that no Xbox One console model is listed.

    Your issue is actually a major issue with xbox one s and one x consoles that started in october 12, 2018 for me. I pay for and get 300 down and 30 up to all of my devices excluding my xbox one x and one s. Both of my consoles get perfect download 300+Mb/s,
    0% packet loss, latency is good 40-70, open NAT, but my upload is 1-3 Mb/s, until october it was always at 30Mb/s upload or better. I along with the majority of my friends in NW arkansas have this problem. What ive done:

    -new wiring

    -i am and have always been hard wired

    -new modem/routers

    -static ip

    -port forwarding

    -dmz enabled

    -turned off firewall for testing

    -checked firmware to make sure it was updated

    -new console

    -no change

    microsoft blamed my isp “cox communications”

    i truly hope you find a fix

    Sounds like the local profile is out of date or corrupted, and when an app or routine asks for data from it, it causes the involuntary disconnection. I'd start by clearing the system cache (it's just temporary files plus game updates, automatically reloaded)
    by:

    1) Please do Settings | System Settings | Storage

    2) Move over any hard drive or memory unit (not the Cloud) & press (Y) on your controller & pick Clear System Cache.

    3) When asked to confirm storage device maintenance, choose Yes.

    4) Repeat that twice more

    * Re-download *

    5) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button

    6) Select Download Profile (and if you don't see it, press the blue X button to make sure you're not signed in) and proceed with Profile Download.

    7) Enter the Microsoft Account addresse for your Xbox LIVE gamertag when asked.

    8) Enter the password for the Microsoft Account.

    8A) If your account is an Xbox LIVE child account, the parent’s Windows Live ID & password is required as well to download your profile.

    9) Pick the storage device for your profile (choose Hard Drive if you have one, or Memory Unit if you don't have a Hard Drive).

    10) When the download completes you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. If it's your home console, I'd say yes, otherwise I'd think carefully about leaving my profile unprotected on somebody else's Xbox!

    11) Sign in, and retry.
