Thank you for trying to help me. Most of the things I had already tried but forgot to include in my original message. Here is my reply to your suggestions.

Have you updated your controller firmware to the latest version?

Yes I have updated the controller through windows Xbox accessories app. This made no improvement.

Have you checked the audio settings on your Windows 11 PC?

Yes I have, every setting is maxed out at 100%. And I tried both from the newer win 11 audio settings screens and also from the older control panel screens. I am also sure I was looking at the correct Microphone settings.

Not all 3.5mm audio jacks are made to the same standard. There are two audio jack standards:

• Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA), and
  
• Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP)
  

I am familiar with the differences between these standards and I also have this adapter. However if you use the wrong standard, the mic wouldn't work as it would be connected to the ground instead, and the audio would have heavy distortions because there would be no ground connected. In my case both audio and mic quality are perfect, it is just the mic volume is low.

Have you tried adjusting the microphone monitoring level on your controller? You can do this by pressing the Xbox button on your controller and going to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories. Select your controller and then select Volume. Use the slider to increase or decrease the microphone monitoring level.

I am unsure how to do this on a windows 11 PC as I do not see these options. These settings seem to be on XBOX only and unfortunately I do not own an XBOX yet, only the controller. I assume that the issue might be a setting of the controller itself but I cannot seem to find any settings pertaining to the controller. Could you advise on how to do this without an Xbox?

they are the same as the standard xbox one s controllers, so with pc you can use via bluetooth(audio through headphone jack not supported)

or wired(supports audio via headphone jack)

I'm sorry Bluetooth does not have the bandwidth to support voice chat with the Xbox controller. You have to use the Xbox wireless adapter for this feature

I've updated the driver and used this controller on other PCs with windows 11 and the problem still persists.

If your controller isn't working on other PC running Windows 11 it tells me something is wrong with your controller.

There aren't any compatibility issues with older Xbox 360 controllers and Windows 11. I've just tried my old Xbox 360 wired controller in my brand new Windows 11 based PC and it works fine. The fact that it isn't working now is likely coincidental.
