Hello! I have a problem with Xbox account gamertag. Some time ago I had Microsoft and Xbox accounts. I deleted my Microsoft account about 1 year ago but my Xbox account gamertag is still exist and I can't register new account with using same Xbox
gametag. Can I somehow claim this gamertag again? My current Microsoft account is registered on same email address from same PC as my previous Microsoft account. I know they can't restore Microsoft account after 60 days but can they release my previous Xbox
gamertag to use it for my new Xbox account?

You do realize that deleting an ms account doesn't actually free up your name right?

It can take up to 5 years from when you last login

It probably wouldve been alot faster to do it the proper way

Change the name on the account holding it

Wait a couple months or maybe instant

Then change the name to the one you want

Now if you deleted the ms account because its permanately banned well you can never get that name account

Xbox accounts aren't the same as ms accounts

Ms accounts are for billing and logging in

They aren't your xbox account

That's the thing, the Microsoft account is deleted since I can no longer recover it (entering the e-mail tells me that there are no accounts under that e-mail). Yet my Xbox account is still visible, is this normal?

When prompted with the 60 or 30 days til deletion, I chose 30 days. It's been over 30 days for sure, but maybe not 60.

Thanks for coming to the forums. When you deactivate the account, it takes 60 days to complete. So when you deactivate you cant sign into the account at all, if you do it activates it again. There is no way around this, the 60 day time period is just a safety
measure to make sure. When you deactivate it, just wait the 60 days then it will be deleted.

Wait, are you talking about Microsoft, or was it an auto correct error. My microsoft account is fine, but the one i need help with is my “Minecraft” account.

Is it possible I can play on my old Minecraft account before changing it's email address? I'm worried that when I change it's email address it will reset all my worlds, servers, and skins, and won't recall my username in-game.
