.heic images not working in Photo app on Xbox

I'm afraid the Series X doesn't currently have native support for .heic files. Hopefully one will be added in the future.

Normally a Minecraft skin file is 16x16, and can go up to 32x32 on Bedrock edition. If the image is the in the correct dimensions, you could try using something other than the default photo manager.

Many photos on iOS will be compressed in the default photo library, and can stop the skin from working in-game. You could try using a different app for photos, or use the files app instead. If Minecraft doesn't let you import the skin directly from the files app, try sharing it and saving it to photos, then import it as soon as possible.

If you're on Windows, then the only possible issue you could be having is incorrect image dimensions or a wrong file format.

If you're on Android, then like Tadeu said, try using a different app for importing the skin.

Memorie, if you want to use a photo from your phone as your Xbox background, you can do that by sending the photo to your Xbox through the Xbox app or OneDrive. Here’s how to do it step-by-step:

Option 1: Use the Xbox mobile app (quick method for screenshots or photos)

On your phone, install the Xbox app (iOS or Android)

Sign in with the same Xbox account you use on your console

Upload the photo to your Xbox activity feed (you can make it private)

Go to your Xbox console

Open the Xbox app on your console, view your profile, and find the uploaded image

Open the image full screen, press the Menu button, and select Set as background

Option 2: Use OneDrive (more control over files)

Install the OneDrive app on your phone

Upload the photo to your OneDrive account

On your Xbox, install and open the OneDrive app

Sign in and browse to the photo

View it in full screen, press the Menu button (three lines), and choose Set as background

Once it’s set, it’ll appear as your console wallpaper behind your home screen tiles.
