Hearing double in my headset when party chat output is set to "Headset and Speakers". The...

    - When party chat output is set to Headset, everything works fine and as intended, chat mixer and all.

    - When party chat output is set to Speakers, I hear party output through my headset still, which shouldn't be the case. It should only output through the speakers, if I am understanding the setting correctly. Also, when it is set to this, the headset chat mixer acts weird. When dragging the slider towards game (controller logo), both the game and party chat get louder, and the game gets muted when dragged all the way. Bu,t when dragging towards party (logo that looks like a person), the party and game get quieter and both get muted when dragged all the way.

    - And when set to headset and speakers, I hear double party chat audio in my headphones, and the chat mixer works oddly in that when dragging all the way to party, the party is still audible, but the game is muted, which is how it should be. But when dragged all the way to game, the game is not much louder than party, and in fact the party is still very loud

I am using the Turtle Beach Battle Buds. No Dolby audio or any odd audio settings. Both Headset and Speaker Audio set to Stereo Uncompressed. This is an issue because I want to capture party audio with my capture card, and to do that I need to have the party chat output set to headset and speakers. I am doing all of this testing without the capture card connected, just HDMI going straight from Xbox to monitor, like normal, to make sure it's not the capture card's fault.

    - Chatted with 2 Microsoft Agents, and did not end up fixing the problem. Tried Factory Reset with the option to keep games and apps. Tried mic monitoring off (was always off). Tried resetting audio settings. Tried multiple controllers and headsets. Probably some other stuff I am forgetting. Ended up using Xbox Report a Problem. Posting here to try and get as many eyes on this as possible. Have seen a couple others on the internet with this issue as well.

    :)

Not able to stream party chat

Make sure you have Party Chat output set to Headset & speakers.

Go to Settings > Volume & audio output >
    Party chat output
    > Set to Headset & speakers

Xbox one live - Haven't heard anyone on the mic for years.

You'll have to enable chat output to be both headset and speakers. To do so, go to Settings -> Display and Sound -> Volume. In the Party Chat Output select the option of Headset and Speakers.

Xbox one s- can I use a mic without a headset?

Yes, there is a way! If you buy a regular headset you can go into the settings. Go to volume and audio and change the party chat output to speakers or headset/speakers. This will allow you to hear what is being said by others. Hope this helps!

    Mic sensitivity

Currently there is a Mic Monitoring Function for Headsets on the Xbox One. However certain headsets run differently and must be adjusted through the headset program before connecting to the Xbox.

If you hear everyone else in your party echo when in party chat, it is likely due to the Xbox One being set to output party chat audio to both speakers and the headset at the same time.

    To change this setting:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select General
    4. Select Volume & audio output
    5. Select Party chat output
    6. Select Headset
You should no longer hear the echo.
