    Headsets stay Muted


    An icon appeared on the screen next to battery indicator for controller showing a mic with a line through it. Since then my sons headset won't work, the mic is not switched to mute. It worked fine in the morning
    then in the evening the icon had appeared and it won't work. He hasn't changed any settings, this is very frustrating as he can hear his friends through the TV but can't speak to them. Please help as I don't know what to do. Ive rebooted the system, ive tried
    the other controller, ive tried a new headset. Nothing works and the headsets are fine, plugged them to my phone work great! The stupid mute icon next to the battery icon does not go away.

    If you are not using a controller adapter than go in to configure on the opinions (pressing the middle xbox button)menu and you will find a switch with the main mic control make sure that it is on and try again

    disconnect the headset try power cycle your console. Please hold down the power button on the front of the console for approximately 15 seconds until the power light shuts off. Wait about 60 seconds, then power it back on. Be sure you see the green "XBOX
    ONE" animation loading screen when you power it back up. then try connect and check the audio settings.

    I am just curious if the account has taken any offence via voice chat, or what type NAT settings are you currently seeing? What headset are you currently using that is having the issue? Have you tried a different account and seeing if the issue still persists?

    would this still be the correct fix even if the muted microphone icon is showing no matter if there is a headset plugged into the controller or not? This icon stays on the screen when I plug any headset into the controller and when no headset at all is plugged
