Headset periodic static

Hello, I am having an issue where my headset (A40s with Xbox adapter) creates static periodically, about every 20 seconds and sometimes goes away for a while but this has been happening for a while. After troubleshooting I think the issue is with using batteries
or the remote.

I have had no issues using the headset on a computer, or using the computer, connecting a usb cord to the remote, connected to the adapter, connected to the headset. I also haven't had the issue after doing the same thing but plugging the usb cord from the
Xbox to the remote.

I have had issues using the same adapter and switching the remote, unplugging and plugging back in both the adapter and headset.

This is what leads me to conclude that the problem lies in either my batteries, or some type of power issue within both remotes.

Has anyone else been having this problem or knows how to fix it? Thank you.

Usually static implies a short within the connection somewhere, can also be caused by a dirty connector.

Hi Skitals!

I was having the same problem... Even in a Race on Forza 5 the audio cuts at randon moments, some time it cuts several times in a row and then back to normal working for a randon period... I get the MS Xbox One Stereo Headset bundle (Adapter + Headset).
I my case, the only issues was the audio cuts and randon controller freezes, my headset don't produce static, noise or anything like that.

Same issue here.

Using it with the Applea Earpod and I have the same issue since the first day... static noise all the time.

I do not have this with any other device, just with the Stereo headset contreller of the XboxOne.

If you have not already done so please try and carry out an update to the controller firmware as guided below to see if this helps with your problem please note as you have a slightly older controller you may need to carry out the update via a USB cable.

This is for the Xbox 360 controller (the one I'm using is only a couple months old, bought brand new), with my headset that came with my Xbox 360 a few years ago. I'm on a metered
bandwidth connection and can't get a next gen console because of all the internet requirements for the new systems
