Headset & party issue

Hello Griffin,

There are a lot of different variables when there are issues with headsets. The main reason/cause for headset is if its a first party or third party headset. When Microsoft issues updates they cover first party headsets but can cause issues with third party
being software is from different developer. The other issue is the 3.5 mm jack gets worn out has been an issue ever since jack was made. Example walkman cd players with the jack etc. There is limited troubleshooting when it comes to headsets due to this. Is
the headset you are using a first or third party?

• First party--created by Microsoft
• Third party--- Developed by someone other than Microsoft examples turtle beach, astro, etc

Third party companies produce headsets for Xbox one if the headset is a third party product you would have to contact that company for warranty issues. Only if the headset is an actual xbox produced item would it be an xbox issue.

With this issue you will need to reach out to Sony as this is a third party headset. Some third party headsets may not be fully compatible with the Xbox controllers.

Sorry for the issue with your headset, There are many factors to headsets working correctly. The biggest is if the headset is first party or a third party headset. This makes a big difference due to updates will always work for first party headsets but
not so much for third party headsets due to being made by other developers. You can try the

Headset troubleshooter also when you went to update it even though it said was up to date. Did you attempt to update the controller?

Hello Musty,

As turtle beach is a third party headset as well s others. That is why the agent was having you try an Xbox one chat headset or stereo headset. These are made by Microsoft so first party headsets. With third party there is only so much troubleshooting we
can do. Updates that come out I have noticed affect a lot of third party headsets.

Also if the headset plugs directly into the controller via 3.5mm jack you can purchase an adapter. This way help with the issue.
