Headset Microphone Won't Work Unless I Bend it

Is the microphone for this headset in-line (on the actual headset cable)? I know for other headsets this means the microphone won't work for the Xbox One.

That is right, both gaming headsets use the controller wide port while music headphones use the round 3.5 mm jack port. I only have this controller. All headsets work fine but I can't see that option unless I use the music headphones (which don't have
microphone). It used to be there with my gaming headset connected a week ago but not now. I want that option for the microphone monitoring and level because you can not control that on the headsets.

If you are looking to chat with the Beats Pro headset, then i would have to say that it wouldn't work. The only way to chat is with xbox supported microphone headsets such as the ones they sell, or turtlebeach/astro/etc. I also wouldn't see it working for
just sound either unless it has a special blutooth capability.

you can cancel the microphone in the configuration section and turn off the microphone in the headset controllers

How do you store your headsets? Three is quite a bit to have gone through. I've had my original Microsoft headset for 3 years. Make sure you are not wrapping your wires or bending them too much, you'll ruin the copper coil inside the wire and it won't work
anymore.
