Headset /Microphone Stopped Working One Minute working Next Minute Nothing

Try with another headset.

Suppose if the mic cable is not broken/bad, could be dirty contacts or not properly pushed deep enough inserted head/mic jackplug.

Clean the jackplug, re-insert and unplug the jackplug in the controller dozen times and twist the plug few times to left and right to clean the internal contacts.

If it happens again, just unplug headset, wait 30sec and replug.

I gave wired a try and it made no difference. The collection of headsets I have work for about 20 minutes and then stop working.

Is the microphone for this headset in-line (on the actual headset cable)? I know for other headsets this means the microphone won't work for the Xbox One.

I have been having the same issue for a few months now. I switched headsets and controllers and nothing helps (these same headsets/headphones work perfectly on other devices). Originally, I could still hear audio through the headset, but now I get nothing.
The microphone icon next to the battery icon in the upper right corner is crossed out and in a party it says “microphone is not available for these people”. When I go into settings, it says that my microphone is on.

I have tried every troubleshooting thing I can find and nothing helps.

This is beyond frustrating.

Can anyone help...I've tried both controllers and tried 3 new headsets and none of them work.

Will resetting the console fix this issue? They seem to work intermittently, like one minute it will work fine and I can chat to and hear others and next minute, wont work at all.

It could also be an issue with the actual controller jacks themselves they could be damaged, you might need to purchase a new controller
