    Headset Mic Not Working (Its not broken)


    About a month ago I brought a new headset and sometimes the mic would stop working but it was an easy fix, but recently it happened again so I did what I normally did but it wasn't working. So I looked up more solutions and I've tried every single one and
    its still not working, In the bottom of my screen it displays a headset icon meaning that its connected but the mic isn't on and I know its not broken because it works on my phone and PC so I really don't know what to do now.

    I just recently purchased a new Xbox 360 headset via www.amazon.com, because my old headset broke a few days ago, but the mic is not working. I'll talk, and either it cuts out halfway through, or it doesn't even acknowledge that I am speaking. I have looked
    the mic over, and there doesn't appear to be any damage to it, so I do not understand why it is not working right.

    make sure you guys turn Mic monitoring off in the settings. I was having some issues with my mic after the update and it was that.

    The same happened to me.

    I ended up buying one of the new Xbox One Bluetooth wireless controllers.

    Try changing the Audio output, under Settings --> Display and Sound, I think.

    I could not get "Stereo" to work, but the "Windows Sonic" option ending up working for me.

    The headset could be broken, or the port where you plug in the headset in your controller. I’d try exchanging it or testing if its the controller with a different headset. If it doesnt work, then I believe it’s faulty wiring in the new mic.

    at the moment i dont have another headset as this one is completely fine and i spent alot of money on it but if it works with other headsets it shouldn't be the mic thats broken

    Hi there, have you tried your headset mic in any other device, for example a smartphone or PC?

    Try and check if your mic works.

    Here's aguide to troubleshoot Mic problems.

    Is it possible that the mic is broken? Have you tried checking if your audio is muted via party chat or on the headset Audio settings on your console?
