    My son's xbox one S head set stopped working. He could no longer hear or use his mic. I assumed we needed to replace the headset but it being under 1 year old I wasn't sure. It won't work with either controller he has. I plugged the head set into a kindle
    and it works fine as well as with cell phones. I tried other head sets with the controllers and nothing seems to work. I have done a dozen of the trouble shooting options and nothing works. Any help would be fantastic.

    Anybody else having chat issues with the Polk 4 Shots?

    It's not the headset, its the boom mic. I used the cord for the cellphone that came with the headset and it fixed the issue

    My headset is stuck on mute

    hope its under warranty only way to fix it..

    the new xb1 has a similar issue.. it occures if your headset is in mute and it turns off wor a power outage it basically locks the headset/mic in the mute position.

    unfortunatly microsoft offers 0 support for this issue.. i have had 3 headset die due to this issue. all were microsoft issued and microsoft factor upgrade headset.. they offered to do a swap out but it was a 4-6 week thing.. i just went and bought another one.. its honestly why im so scared to buy a turtle beach or astro.

    It maybe your headset mic. Try using a USB mic for speaking there while you use your headset to hear. That is what I would do since the mic from the headset may have issues at times.

    When you checked controller update, did it report no update required?

    Did you run the update anyway?

    What firmware version is reported when you check for update?

    Check the manufactured date of the other controllers.

    The update needs to be run on every controller you use.I used to run the update when the controller has the adapter attached with headset plugged in and using a plug/play/charge cable connected to the console.

    A couple of times (different OS version) I needed to run the update after the console had been totally powered off and power cable removed.

    I would assume this to be a mic/headset problem. Maybe try a different headset and see if that fixes the issue.

    There could be a short in the cord or issues with connection of the headset mic or parts of the headset itself.

    Most manufactures have some warranty if it's a newer headset.
