Headset issue with Backwards compatibility

I’m copying and pasting this from a different site but it’s exactly my issue

Hoping someone can help me with this. I was playing a backwards compatible 360 game (COD BO2) on Xbox 1 multiplayer today and my Xbox 1 headset wouldn't connect. The headset would connect and immediately disconnect. The controls would light up (I could mute
and unmute) but I was unable to chat but could hear other people. If I disconnected the headset and re-connected the headset, it would connect and for a fraction of a second, I could speak and be heard, but then it would stop working completely.

I have also had the headset working on Xbox one the same day.

Xbox One will support 360 headsets with adapter

Finally something that is backwards compatible. Though headsets are pretty meaningless and is probably the last thing I would list for things that I would like to be backwards compatible.

To be sure, are you running into the same issues with any other games?

Let's have you run you through the steps on the
Headset troubleshooter and see if we can clear that issue up.

They use, different logic boards (Different Circuitry) in the Black Controllers now..

But, the black controllers, are backwards compatible with the white consoles etc..

(It does, have some issues with the detection of the headset in games though & will show the headset icon, even though the headset isn't plugged in)

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is a question with connecting a headset to the Xbox Console.

I recommend checking out the following articles:

Connecting a compatible headset to Xbox One

Xbox One controller and headset compatibility

If the problem persists:

Try updating the first controller. If that fails, try
a different controller.

Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.

Try this out and let us know the results.

My headset works on the Xbox one just not on backwards compatible games plus my Headset is completely wireless so i can't even try any of that. I think it's the Astro A50's like ArminatorX said about the base station being a USB
microphone. I'm just going to have to get another headset to use on backwards Compatible games one that actually connects to the controller like Astro A40's or something similar.

Sadly the kinect has been discontinued.

Hardware isn't backwards compatible as well. Unless it's a headset with an adapter.
